About Sand Hill Cemetery:
Sand Hill Cemetery is the oldest large cemetery in Mt Carmel IL, predating Highland Memorial Cemetery and Rose Hill Cemetery. There was no subdivision of lots in Sand Hill Cemetery. People were buried in the order of their death. New burials were prohibited in Sand Hill Cemetery after 1932.
