One of the original settlers of Palmyra (ca 1814); m1: 24 Mar 1804 Polly Philpot (1786-1816); m2: 22 Aug 1816 Edwards Co Illinois Territory Elizabeth B Osgood (28 Apr 1798-1817 Wabash Co d/of Nathaniel Osgood {1759} & Hannah Dewey {1763-1837 Wabash Co}); m3: 1819 Relief Osgood* (8 Jun 1796-1849 Wabash Co d/of Nathaniel Osgood {1759} & Hannah Dewey {1763-1837 Wabash Co}); ch: of Polly: (Daniel (1805 IN-1867 AR) & Elizabeth S (1808 IN) & William H (1811 IN) & Alford B (1813 IN) & Rebecca (1815 IL); See Relief* for her children. Gervase and his father Daniel were very early settlers (1804) of Gibson Co IN. They established the town of Hazleton IN. In 1804 Gervase was granted a White River ferry license by Governor William Henry Harrison. Gervase moved to Illinois in 1814 with others establishing the community of Palmyra (Wabash Co IL) and operating a Wabash River ferry in that community.
